Those students who got failed in 10th class from CBSE or ICSE and any state board can apply for October Session Exam which will conduct in October/November. Candidate can save year by giving these exam sessions. Like, if you are failed in 10th class in some subjects like one or two so you will have to give at least three subject exams and the remaining two pass subject marks will be transferred to NIOS board. if you apply on-demand exam so you can give exam in June, July August and September for getting passing certificate April session.

The minimum age limit for NIOS 10th admission is 14 years.
He/she must have cleared class 8 from the recognized board or must possess enough knowledge to sit for the class 10th exam. A candidate giving self-certificate and stating that they have studied enough to be eligible for NIOS 10th registration. He/she must have cleared class 10 from a recognized board to apply for NIOS class 12 registration. Students who are applying immediately after passing 10th will not be allowed to sit for the exams for all the subjects in one attempt.
